CAMPONOTUS is the scientific name for the Carpenter Ant – a small creature that can do big things, just like every child who chooses to belong to history’s greatest Carpenter.

Jesus can use Little People to do Big Things!giAnts with God

Mission

The Camponotus Program is organised into 3 age-specific groups (reflecting the natural sizes and roles found in the Carpenter ant colonies) – each with their own slogan!

    • Ants – 5 to 8 year olds  –  giAnt with God!
    • Workers – 9 to 12 year olds  –  brilliAnt with God!
    • Soldiers – 13 to 16 year olds  –  vigilAnt with God!

The program has been organised to encourage children aged 5 to 16 years to learn, socialise and understand more about our loving God.  Through annual Ev-Ants (ranging from 1 to 4 days) children and youth gather to learn survival skills, crafts, practical skills, teamwork, leadership and much more!

As they build friendships, memorise Scripture and grow in faith, the children will collect valuable resources and receive achievement tokens that will help them remember and appreciate what they have learned throughout the program.

Philosophy

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

    1. The Camponotus program is part of the SDARM Education Department, reaching young people across Australia with the purpose of nurturing faith, building character, and guiding children and youth to grow in Christ through meaningful learning and service.

    2. The Camponotus program is designed for children and youth aged 5 to 16. We also encourage our young people to mentor and help run the programs together with spiritually minded parents and teachers.

    3. Camponotus kids and youth are able to connect with likeminded peers and develop valuable skills for their future.

    4. The Camponotus program aims to support each child’s sense of belonging, being, and becoming, while nurturing their physical, creative, mental, social, and spiritual health.

    5. Camponotus kids and youth are encouraged to grow strong in God’s love.
